Books Crochet Cross stitch General Jar of Ideas

Move over, 2018!

We’re almost done with 2018. And what a year it has been. I will spare you the details, but it has been a rollercoaster. That’s why I am really looking forward to the holidays, and my trip to Morocco right after! With the post for December’s Jar of Ideas coming next week, this is the post for flashbacks and new year’s resolutions!

From 2018…

In 2018 I started this blog. It has been my dream for a very long time, and I am so happy to have gotten this far with it! I enjoy writing every single blogpost, so I can imagine I will continue to do this with a lot of passion in 2019. I already have a lot of ideas lined up… If you want to stay updated, you should subscribe to my newsletter to the right!

Books

I haven’t read as much as I would have liked this year. Crochet and cross stitch kept getting in the way! And, if I am totally honest, I also spent a lot of time watching tv shows and movies. Books have always been my number one, but it looks like I found a new favorite hobby… Check out the category “Books” if you want to read more about the books I have read!
Total book count: 7.

Jar of Ideas

Oh boy, have I had much fun with this! Working with the Jar of Ideas has given me different materials, different themes than I could ever choose myself! It is so much fun to get challenged in this way. My absolute favorite projects are July (“Plants”) and November (“Sports”). Did you join in? If you want to, you can share your results with #nerdwithyarn and #jarofideas.

Cross stitch

Yes, I found a new hobby! Somewhere at the end of Summer, I started my first cross stitch from a kit. Love, love, love! At the end of 2018, I have made my first original cross stitch pattern (“Gym Shark” – available for free here) and I have so many ideas left. 2019 will see much more cross stitch, for sure!

Crochet

Of course I have crocheted! In the past year I have finished some big projects designed by others, made a few blankets for charity (for example one with Solid Granny Squares), tested a pattern for a designer I love, made a few keychains and designed some patterns of my own (take a look at these Christmas gift decorations – you still have some time!).

… to 2019!

What are my plans for 2019? There are so many things on my to-do list! The downside of being creative is wanting to make everything into a project… But I have a whole year ahead of me, so let’s take a look!

Books

Harry PotterThe Da Vinci CodePride and Prejudice and The Kite Runner were on my list for 2018. But then crochet happened, and personal life happened, and little reading was done. So I push these titles over to 2019, and make myself a promise to read more. And after these books, I still have probably hundreds of others I want to read, especially when you count in the books I read every other year…

Jar of Ideas

The Jar will definitely continue in 2019. And if it is empty, I just ask people to fill it again! But judging by the amount of pieces of paper inside my Jar, I still have a few years to go…

Cross stitch

The virus has caught me. I already have a few patterns planned for 2019, and more are sure to come. All nerdy, all awesome! With themes like Star Wars, Pokémon and superheroes, I can’t wait to get started!

Crochet

Of course crochet plays an enormous part in 2019. Patterns and projects are already piling up, so there is enough to do. A lot more original patterns will be coming your way, and again every single one is awesome (and some are nerdy as well!).

As you can see, I am really looking forward to 2019 and I hope you will enjoy my blog in the next year as well. I wish you happy holidays and a great start of 2019!
